Simpsonville Update

October was a busy and exciting month at our Simpsonville

Headquarters! The interior drywall installation is well underway, giving the space a more complete look. Paving is nearly finished, landscaping is being installed around the building, and our permanent KCC sign is now proudly in place. The project continues to take shape beautifully, and it’s great to see our new headquarters coming together step by step.

Welder, Curbs and Adapters

How long have you been at KCC and what have you done since here and what do you do now?

I have been here 3 years. I’ve been a welder the entire time. I’m in curbs and adapters and weld on lines 2 & 3 sometimes 6/7/8.

What’s the most unique food you’ve ever eaten?

I recently had Chicago Style Pizza from “Chi Pie” which is a new place in Simpsonville. They have a really good deep dish.

If you had to teach a class on one subject, what would it be?

I would say the Bible. I like that it tells the story and is non-fiction.

What’s one thing you consider yourself to be very good at?

I’m pretty good at fixing things around the house. My wife loves that about me.

If you could choose one superpower, what would it be and why?

I would like to be able to fly to get to places faster, and to be able to make a positive impact and make a difference for someone having a hard time.

When you were in high school, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I really wanted to be a skilled construction worker.

What’s one thing about you that people may not know? A hobby or interest?

I have two grandsons I love to spend time with. My wife and I love camping during RV season. We like Barron River and Red River Gorge best.

What advice do you have for new employees?

Be on time. Ask questions. Volunteer because there is a lot to learn and safety is always first!
